Embrace Grace-Filled Valleys to Get Through the Storm
When you’re down in the valley, completely exhausted, and full of fear and uncertainty – it can be a challenge to find joy.
Although we are told to rejoice “whatever our lot” – sometimes our lot is heavy and almost too much to carry.
But before you become overwhelmed with grief and despair – remember that God hasn’t left His throne – and He wants you to keep the faith and be reminded of one crucial thing.
He gives grace.
As believers, we know we will face trials.
It isn’t a matter of if – but when.
In this broken world that continues to mock God and move away from His teachings, the consequences of sin can be suffocating.
When those of the world go through difficulties, they put their faith in external things – money, possessions, even another person.
But God wants to remind us – apart from Him, we can do nothing.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
If you really know this – at a soul level – you’ll know that if you stick to the course and stay with Jesus, you will bear fruit – even in the storm.
The storms of life can be brutal – but they don’t last forever.
God uses trials and tribulations to prune His people – to make them more like Jesus.
When everything else has been stripped away, Jesus remains.
And when we stay faithful and embrace His grace during the storm, the aroma of our faith alerts a dying world that there is something, rather Someone, bigger than it all.
God is always sovereign and on His throne even when we don’t understand what He’s doing.
But when we rest in the faithfulness of His promises and cling to the garment of His grace – through Him we’ll have the strength to keep going and extend that same grace He gave us to others.
