Sarah Palin Has The New York Times Panicking

The Republicans are sick of lies told by The New York Times.

“The old gray lady” is one of the most powerful weapons wielded by the Democratic elites.

But Sarah Palin has The Times panicking after one lie they told.

Sarah Palin’s lawsuit against The New York Times is proceeding, and liberals are concerned about the tightening of libel laws.

The Times despicably blamed Palin for the shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

Palin released a campaign ad that illustrated crosshairs on Democrats that should metaphorically be targeted in winnable elections.

That was used by the Left to create the fake narrative that Palin was trying to get Democrats killed.

The New York Times wrote:

“IN 2011, WHEN JARED LEE LOUGHNER OPENED FIRE IN A SUPERMARKET PARKING LOT, GRIEVOUSLY WOUNDING REPRESENTATIVE GABBY GIFFORDS AND KILLING SIX PEOPLE, INCLUDING A 9-YEAR-OLD GIRL, THE LINK TO POLITICAL INCITEMENT WAS CLEAR. BEFORE THE SHOOTING, SARAH PALIN’S POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE CIRCULATED A MAP OF TARGETED ELECTORAL DISTRICTS THAT PUT MS. GIFFORDS AND 19 OTHER DEMOCRATS UNDER STYLIZED CROSS HAIRS.”

The entire narrative was wrong; Loughner was not deeply ideological, and he had long been obsessed with Giffords well before Palin’s campaign ad.

Giffords herself contributed to the bogus narrative, proclaiming:

“WE’RE ON SARAH PALIN’S TARGETED LIST…BUT THE THING IS THE WAY THAT SHE HAS IT DEPICTED HAS THE CROSS HAIRS OF A GUN SIGHT OVER OUR DISTRICT. WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT, THEY’VE GOT TO REALIZE THERE’S CONSEQUENCES TO THAT.”

Nonetheless, the lie spread that Palin was complicit in the terrible shooting incident.

That spurred Palin to go to court, and Democrats are apprehensive.

The Times also clumsily shoehorned in a barb at Donald Trump, fretting that he may get his wish of tighter rules with regard to libel.

The Times wrote:

“But a libel case that begins Monday in federal court in Lower Manhattan, Sarah Palin v. The New York Times Company, shines a spotlight on the many ways that Mr. Trump’s seemingly far-fetched wish may no longer be so unthinkable.”

The entire so-called mainstream media is concerned over the Palin case.

Politico tried to absolve The Times of its libelous actions:

“WITHIN A DAY, THE TIMES CORRECTED THE EDITORIAL AND NOTED THAT NO CONNECTION WAS EVER ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE RAMPAGE AND A MAP THAT PALIN’S POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE CIRCULATED WITH CROSSHAIRS SUPERIMPOSED ON THE DISTRICTS OF 20 DEMOCRATS, INCLUDING GIFFORDS. THE TIMES ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED IT ERRED BY SUGGESTING THAT THE CROSSHAIRS APPEARED OVER IMAGES OF THE CANDIDATES THEMSELVES.”

But the bell cannot be unrung.

The Times knows that only a fraction of people will read the correction and retraction.

The false narrative shouldn’t have been published in the first place.

The New York Times could be in trouble.

Adding to Palin’s lawsuit, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe is suing The Times for defamation, and a judge ruled that his suit can move forward as well.

In years past, The New York Times could get away with smearing their targets.

But the tide is slowly turning.

Democrat institutions are being held to higher standards as more information outlets become available.

The liberal activists at The Times might finally get held accountable for propagating fake news.
