Amy Coney Barrett Driving Democrats Insane
When Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, Democrats feared one issue above all else.
Now the left’s nightmare scenario arrived.
And Amy Coney Barrett drove Democrats insane by dishing out a crushing defeat.
The six Republican justices on the Supreme Court smacked down the abortion lobby’s latest effort to block a Texas pro-life law that effectively banned abortions after six weeks.
The Texas law allows private citizens to file civil lawsuits against abortion clinics seeking damages up to $10,000 if the clinic performs abortions after six weeks.
Beginning in September, the Supreme Court rejected a series of challenges to block the law until legal challenges could play out.
In this latest case, the pro-abortion lobby argued the Supreme Court should remand the case back to a Texas district court the abortion lobby hand-picked because of a friendly judge.
After a Supreme Court ruling in December that allowed the law to continue in effect, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals kicked the case to the Texas State Supreme Court.
Left-wing pro-abortion fanatic Justice Sonia Sotomayor argued the Fifth Circuit punting the case to the Texas State Supreme Court amounted to a delay tactic to sit on the case until the Supreme Court handed down a separate decision in June that many believe will overturn Roe v. Wade once and for all.
“The Fifth Circuit should have immediately remanded this case to the District Court, allowing it to consider whether to issue preliminary relief. But Texas moved to certify to the Supreme Court of Texas the question this Court had just decided: whether state licensing officials had authority under state law to enforce S. B. 8,” Sotomayor wrote.
Sotomayor ranted that the six Republican-appointed justices allowing a law to remain in effect that protected the lives of innocent babies was actually an attack on the rule of law.
“This case is a disaster for the rule of law and a grave disservice to women in Texas, who have a right to control their own bodies,” Sotomayor fumed. “I will not stand by silently as a State continues to nullify this constitutional guarantee.”
When Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat Democrats dreaded that with six Republican-appointed justices, Roe v. Wade – which legalized abortion on demand across the country – faced the chopping block.
That’s because with six Republican-appointed justices no one had to identify as the one who cast the deciding vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Liberal justices like Sonia Sotomayor read the writing on the wall and are lashing out at their conservative colleagues in increasingly vitriolic terms.
