Colorado’s Democrat Governor Defies Biden’s On COVID

Joe Biden’s COVID policies have been an unmitigated disaster.

Not only has Biden overseen more COVID deaths than Trump did, but his hardcore pro-lockdown, pro-mandate policies have brought the United States into an economic disaster that rivals anything seen since the 2008 crash.

Even worse, Biden’s COVID policies have almost been universally unconstitutional and authoritarian in their nature.

Not only has he tried to mandate the jab for private employers, his political hacks like Anthony Fauci have constantly moved the goalposts over what constitutes “fully vaccinated” and whether or not yet another round of lockdowns will be needed.

But while Biden continues to use COVID as an excuse to accumulate more and more power in his own hands, one member of his own party is now openly defying the narrative Biden’s loyalists in Washington are constantly pushing on a daily basis.

Fox News reports, “Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, declared in a new interview that the COVID-19 emergency is “over” and that he won’t be implementing another statewide mask mandate in response to the spread of the omicron variant, explaining that if people aren’t vaccinated at this point it’s their “own darn fault” if they get sick.”

Polis is the first and only Democrat Governor to date who has openly defied Biden’s own talking points and actions on COVID, and he’s now opened the floodgates for the rest of the country to join him and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in putting an end to the government “emergency” measures over the virus.

Not only that, but Polis’ own words on the matter fly directly in the face of what Biden has been saying for over half a year.

At the same time that Biden is trying to get state and local governments to go along with his demands for another round of mandated vaccines, lockdowns, and mask mandates, Polis is directly contradicting the leader of his own party, and in doing so, undermining the message Biden is pushing on the rest of the country.

“The emergency is over. You know, public health [officials] don’t get to tell people what to wear; that’s just not their job. Public health [officials] would say to always wear a mask because it decreases flu and decreases [other airborne illnesses]. But that’s not something that you require; you don’t tell people what to wear. You don’t tell people to wear a jacket when they go out in winter and force them to [wear it]. If they get frostbite, it’s their own darn fault,” said Polis, when declaring the COVID emergency over in his state.

Polis’ comments could not have come at a worse time for Biden.

Not only is Biden busy pushing for more restrictions and mandates across the country, but he’s already been battling with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over the implementation of a new wave of COVID restrictions.

Now, Biden may have to contend with a member of his own party to do the same.
